Know Your Skin Type

Do you know what your skin type is? Do you need help figuring out what your skin type is? Many of you will know exactly what your skin type is, and then there are those who are just a bit confused by it all.

Knowing your skin type will help you to determine the best products to use in your skin care routine. It will also help you to care for and beautify your skin to the utmost!

Our skin is affected by many different factors, with heredity playing the largest piece of the puzzle. The environment, exposure to sun, wind and the outdoors all affect your skin. Unfortunately, we are all exposed to toxins and pollutants in the air and waters daily. Your diet and even stress will affect how your skin looks and feels.

There are 3 basic skin types:

• Dry
• Oily
• Combination

Dry Skin: Dry skin can be seen in people of all ages. Dry skin has a lack of oil, a lack of water, or both. Environmental conditions can make dry skin even drier. Is this your skin type? Here are some characteristics of dry skin:

• looks and feels tight and may have visible flaking
• has a matte (no shine) finish with no sheen and can feel rough
• develops fine lines and wrinkles sooner than other skin types
• often delicate, easily irritated, and usually sensitive to cold weather

If this is this your skin type I would recommend L'Bri's Gentle Skin Care Trio. If you are extremely dry (like me) I would recomend the Gentle Trio with Intense Moisture.

Oily Skin: Oily skin has overactive sebaceous (oil) glands. Oily skin most often appears in those aged twelve to twenty-two, but is becoming more common in women (and men) of all ages due to added stress. Is this your skin type? Here are some characteristics of oily skin:

• takes on a shiny appearance soon after cleansing
• thicker, firmer, and less sensitive than other skin types
• tendency to have clogged pores, blackheads and blemishes/pimples

If this is your skin type I would recommend L'Bri's Deep Pore Trio. If you are extra oily and severely blemished I would recommend the Deep Pore Trio with Aloe Jelly.

Combination Skin: Combination skin refers to skin with two or more distinctly different characteristics on different parts of the face. The most common combination skin is oily in certain areas and then dry to normal in other areas. Is this your skin type? Here are some characteristics of combination skin:

• oily T-zone(forehead, nose and chin) where oiliness, large pores, bemishes and blackheads may occur
• eye and throat areas are normal or dry
